Architectural Committee Guidelines

The Architectural Committee helps ensure any changes/improvements to the neighborhood maintains the natural beauty of the neighborhood and helps preserve property values (refer to Restricted Covenant (RC) Section 4).

The Lakeshore Woods Owners Association (LWOA) Board of Directors provides this information to help Lot Owners navigate the process and understand when approvals are required, and maintains the right to modify when needed in accordance to the RCs.

Process: To obtain approval from the Architectural Committee and Board of Directors, please submit your proposal request to any of the following contacts. Please include a description of the project, sketches, materials, colors, location, etc.

Timeline: Once all the information needed is submitted, the Lot Owner will receive a response within 30 days.

What Needs Approval? Before making any of the following changes, Lot Owners must obtain approval. Regular maintenance and upkeep do not need approvals.

  • Swimming Pools
  • Fences / Enclosures
  • Sheds / Accessory Buildings / Greenhouses / Garden Enclosures
  • Tree Removal
  • Retaining Walls / Berms
  • Exterior House Modifications
    • Examples include but aren’t limited to – solar panels, decks, patios, change in paint color, etc.
  • Hard Courts (i.e. basketball, tennis courts, etc.)
  • Fire pits
  • Landscaping – major projects that change the look of the property and is beyond regular maintenance
  • Items Requiring a Township Permit
